I qualified in the late 60s (!) and the uniform for qualified staff was white with green trim by then and trousers finally arrived- bottle green. Students still had individual college uniforms. St Loyes was brick and blue with a fabulous bottle green cape with pale blue lining.

Wow a blast from the past Theresa. I remember asking NOMEQ for permission to use their photo. I also remember using them in practice too!

Oh my!! Just submitted my application for the MSc Advancing Practice in Occupational Therapy Li-Ming Cheng. BIG thank you for all the support ElizabethCassonTrust and the amazing Dr Clare Taylor and @YSJ. Special extra thanks to ElizabethCassonTrust and their excellent OT mentoring programme 💪💚

Unforgettable. Incalculable loss - one of the largest, most significant collections of Occupational Therapy evidence and knowledge. What are your questions for Royal College of Occupational Therapists AGM? Are they about governance, ethics, decision-making, heritage, member benefits or

Such a joy! Something I don’t actually miss. Loved curriculum development ( now you do have to be sad to do that!) but validation? - not so much. Too many egos and power jostling 🤣

I’ve just got mine back too. So here they all are, scattered to the 4 winds. Thanks RCOT for making my contribution to professional thinking feel so useful

Congrats to everyone who will be part of the 2023 cohort for the #ElizabethCasson personal leadership programme. For anyone not offered a place this time due to numbers, we plan to offer this prog each year and to give priority to those who previously applied Dee Christie OBE FRCOT

Agreed Dee. I spent many, many happy hours at St Loyes in the 1960s doing crafts that were rarely used in practice. A bit of a reflection of the profession perhaps not quite knowing what it was and how to move with the times?

annie turner (@eann_turner) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Indeed they did and early OTs used this to huge advantage. However post WW2 healthcare changed significantly in the UK and the profession eventually struggled to find its place in the medical model NHS of the time

She is I deed an absolutely fascinating character. Strong willed, hard working, visionary and well connected. Quite a woman

Ha! That was a long time ago. Glad you still have the Casson card - it’s a beautiful rose and still going strong in my garden. JDI! Absolutely

Maybe her bio would make interesting reading too? I visited the school in Argentina many years ago. It was fabulous to see the places where she’d taught
