Spoke with Matt Clarke after the first round. On launching four bids, Clarke said: “We’re just putting them in an order. We do a ranking system, like most other clubs will, and if we feel that they deserve to be picked there in the draft, we will bid on them.”

Our first pick in round 2 the Eagles have looked to the future with picking Sam Allen at pick 29. Sam had a ACL injury but is rated an endurance beast and can play midfield and more at home on the wing. A surprise pre all those who do mick drafts going higher than expected.

Personally reckon we got the one NGA player we always were into with Tylah Williams, as club did say no guarantees. We may rue not being able to get young Banfield but hopefully he head home later
