Made the #MorseCode #CW catch of a LIFETIME with less than a watt #QRPp working the 40 meter greyline from Kentucky to Down Under during my Early Bird #HamRadio #AmateurRadio activation. For me, #POTA #parksontheair is not about the numbers but the EXPERIENCE!

Repurposed the old Greencube gear a little bit and checked out the 70cm FTx contest this evening. Really crazy that I could hear 3-4 more stations that could hear me... Seems they all run QRO so I could not reach them with my 50W and 15 ele. OD(R)X was GM4 in IO86 1050 km (656mi)

Yesterday, I found a spot in the shade near Llamas de Rueda and activated LIC Rebollares Del Cea, ES-0492. Turns out my pressure paddles don’t work with my G90, so I dug deep into my bag & found a microphone!!! Had a big SSB pileup that ended quickly with 32 contacts. 73 & 44!

With extreme temp warnings I decided to head out early and go high: Puerto de La Cubilla, elev. 1,683m-5,522ft. I found a tree next to a cliff that was just tall enough for my EFHW. Made 18 contacts from inside ES-2065 & ES-0071, Las Ubiñas-La Mesa Park & Reserve. 73 & 44! #POTA

Today I participated in the 2025 Guangdong Provincial Radio Science Popularization Event. Gained new knowledge about HF bands, and exchanged numerous eyeball QSO cards with local operators – looking forward to meeting on the air! Photo 1, I am on the L and BA7OTT is on the R.

Ham fam, I've got 2 questions for you: 1) What FM satellite(s) would you recommend for newbs? 2) What apps or websites are good for planning? FWIW, I'd be using a 5W HT (full duplex) and Elk dual band log periodic. I'm hoping to try while I'm on vacation later this month. Thanks!

I was activating SOTA peak Cueto Rosales, EA1/LE-171, today when two men came up and asked what I was doing. Turns out they were radio people for the firefighting agency. They were concerned I might interfere with their communications & asked me to stop transmitting. I did. CONT.

That’s why I dissapeared. I then packed up my gear & they went inside the stone tower. As I left, they waived & said goodby, very friendly. I drove to another location inside the park & finished the activation with 47 SSB contacts. #POTA ES-0493 & ES-2057. Tnx hunters! 73/44

POTA activation with the 20M DeltaLoop was cut short due to battery going graveyard dead! 😡 Unbelievably great audio from this antenna. Got 59 most of the time. 26 SSB contacts in 27 mins then...🪦🪫

Came north to Gijón today, where Sergio, EA1FVT, suggested I activate ES-1389, Carbayera de El Tragamón. Very nice park! Made an easy 16 CW contacts in 1 hour. Hope to meet some of the local hams tomorrow & do one final activation. Then, I’m off to visit friends in Salamanca. 73!

Last Saturday's #POTA Parks on the Air, Inc. ES-0307!! Plenty of trees there, so chose my BH7JYR EFHW & made 1st use of my throwline & throw-weight... TNX K4SWL for the idea!! Worked great!🤩 31 EU SSB QSOs with 100W from my IC-7100 & 40Ah Bioenno LiFePO4 batt, in the car as too hot outside!
