Our PhD student, Jeff, presented on “Evaluating Plant Uptake of 4,4’-Methylenedianiline” at Water and Environment Student Talks Conference today in the “Emerging Contaminants” Ed Session. His talk was based on the research he conducted during his master’s at Utah State University. Kudos to Jeff!! 👏👏

Our new project is STREAM (Salmonid Toxic Runoff Exposure & Treatment) bitly.ws/34IH5 This DFO funded project will identify hotspots of salmon exposure to the newly discovered salmon/tire toxin 6PPD-quinone. We will also design new treatments using green infrastructure.

Some scientists think they have cool projects...but how many of them get to do fieldwork on a MASSIVE HOVERCRAFT?!! Scholes Lab PhD student Jeff goes out water sampling on the Canadian Coast Guard hovercraft, the Moytel.

So glad I got the opportunity to present my research on "soil amendments for organic contaminants degradation in bioretention systems" and represent eSTORM Lab at #CSC2024 in Winnipeg last week!😊 🙌
