My “Five Ways of Using AI in Law Teaching” presentation today at CALT-ACPD sparked some good lively discussion and thoughtful comments, with some potential uses seeming more accepted than others. But I think I made my point that there are potential constructive uses

Wonderful CALT-ACPD-enabled visit this evening with two law prof colleagues in a backyard garden - great that these sorts of conferences draw people together to speak across school boundaries about legal education and legal scholarship (even with some different ideas, almost an

Great weekend at the Supreme Court of Canada reunion, with over 800 people in attendance - I had a good chance to reconnect en masse at a reception and banquet, as well as through a 1999/2000 year event (a walk over to Hull), a LeBel chambers event, and a USask clerks event

After Saskatoon’s thunderstorm earlier, vacuum trucks have now arrived with a plan to take 20,000 liters of water out of my basement…. (Not as bad as it sounds - it is a multiunit condo so that’s over a meaningful area of parking garage) #yxe

My post-workout look seems to have led to the nearby 24-hour sub shop deciding not to buzz me in (I wouldn’t have thought sub shops in Edmonton need to stay locked up but I guess that’s where we are at)

Ahead of leaving Edmonton this morning, it was great to meet for breakfast a former grad student who has gone on to challenging work and is going on to challenging further studies. Also good to hear of him by chance running into another former student and RA at a pub last night.

I was lucky to pop into Elk Island National Park, Parks Canada on the way to Edmonton on Fri, when I saw both bison and bears. I popped in today on the way home on a weekend and saw good scenery, but the only animals I saw were crowds of humans. But glad people are enjoying the park. Bison from Friday:

Found today in the U of Saskatchewan library discard pile. Honestly, bad enough they're not keeping these gems - they have to desecrate the title pages too.

The day after I heard a marvellous speech by Usask President on the value of the humanities, shocked to be finding in the U of Saskatchewan University Library discard pile multiple volumes of a Cambridge history of the world (amongst other finds) - I don’t understand the discarding going on
