Put me on the list of the many readers dazzled by THE CHAIN by Adrian McKinty . Explosive, unpredictable, engrossing and even better than advertised.

So glad to have had a chance to hear Ace Atkins at the Vero Beach Book Center this evening, talking Spenser and Pearl and other interesting things. Looking forward to ANGEL EYES.

Our mystery book group is reading books by “all the Lisas” mystery writers and I just finished THE STRANGER INSIDE by Lisa Unger . I appreciated the plot but loved the elegant writing and complex characterization. Rain will be in my head for a long time. Thanks, Lisa!

Wow! Just finished the amazing CAT TALE by the inimitable Craig Pittman. Fascinating, horrifying and a great look at the dirty doings hampering Florida panther preservation. Read it!

Prior practice produces perfection. I wouldn’t have made Queen Bee today if I hadn’t found a small exhalation on a recent list of words I missed. #spellingbee

The next book I’ll be telling everyone about is the thrilling and timely RED LOTUS by Chris Bohjalian . What a terrific twisty plot and a stunner of an epilogue!

Thanks Scalzi for a heartfelt defense of anyone reading anything they want at any age in the NYT By The Book this week. I too pored over The People’s Almanac series, and would love to eavesdrop at your imaginary dinner party.

Just got accosted at the grocery store by a library patron with no mask on who was upset the library still wasn't open. YOUR BEHAVIOR IS PART OF THE REASON THE LIBRARY ISN'T OPEN, SIR! Librarian is not Latin for martyr. We'll open when it's safe. #librarianproblems #librarylife
