Good day for some emerging Vic cricketers y'day: tons for Dylan Brasher, Shobit Singh, Mitch Jamieson, Farzan Chowna and Liam Fitzpatrick (as well as senior hands Tom Russ and Mark Phelan) in Premier Cricket, and a match-winning 95no from Will Beattie for Malvern in Subbies.

Know it doesn’t suit the narrative but after being 3/12 , all commentary should have been “Australia need to bat 2 days to save this Test” not “Australia need another 500 and something to win” #AUSvIND

The Dowling Shield is in the hands of the mighty St Kilda after it defeated Geelong in today's final. Opener Ahmed Raza hit 78 in the run chase and Louis Stevenson (61no and 3-35) was player of the match.

Premier Jacinta Allan wants her government to bypass council planning laws so she can cram 2 million high-rises into our suburbs. Meanwhile, Victorians face red tape just to renovate or build. Why should Labor ignore the rules that restrict us? Let’s bring back fairness!

Asked to bat yesterday, St Kilda has batted. And batted. And batted. It has batted for 174 overs in the Vic Premier Cricket grand final against Carlton and it is still batting. Score: 7-440 (Marcus Harris 161, Harry Dixon 62, Jon Merlo 52, Tom Russ 58, Adam Crosthwaite 47no).

Celebrating its Vic Premier Cricket flag last night, St Kilda presented life membership to Test man Michael Beer, fellow first-class player Michael Klinger, Peter Burke, Bryan Gibbs, Steve Zayler and Steve Maddocks. Tom Russ was club champion, taking the Whiteside-Rummans Medal.

One week??? Shows how out of whack the system is when a guy chooses to bump and hits high rather than go for the ball is assessed 2 weeks less than a bloke who commits a perfect tackle 🤦🤦.

How about this solution. If a player grabs you for a third time and one of the 4 umpires have selectively ignored it you get 1 free hit on the opponent anywhere barring head or groin.
