Just completed the central Oregon leg of our University of Oregon field volcanology class. A bit chilly, but lots of great geology!
Can you spot the difference? Exciting work coming out of Josef Dufek and Christopher H. Hendon lab.
We launched a sensor balloon for our University of Oregon Earth Sciences 'Building an Atmosphere' class yesterday. After a day+night traveling across California, a little loop in the Pacific, and across Mexico we are now tracking it in Texas. UO College of Arts and Sciences #sensors
Very excited to see this paper led by eric breard come out! As always, Eric makes the best figures!
Excited to this out. In this paper led by Josh Crozier we examine how an eruption can be modified by deformation and the connection between geophysics and turbulent multiphase plumes. Also illustrating the the potential of integrating many different sensor measurements.
I'm a bit late posting our group picture for the year -- but no time like the present, especially as three of the group are defending in the next three weeks, starting with Becca Bussard tomorrow!
Today is Blake Nash-Laboe last day in the UO Sensors for Extreme Environments lab. Blake has done some amazing things in the lab and we are excited to see what he does next in graduate school in atmospheric science at UC Davis!
