Appreciation post! 44 years ago to the day Billy started work here at Duddingston Golf Club and here he is this morning cutting greens for today's open. Still as keen as always albeit with less hair and a little less fingers than when he started. Happy Anniversary and THANK YOU BILLY!

Phase 2 of this week's maintenance underway. A top dress and sarel roll was completed on Monday and today we are overseeding the greens with bent grass seed. Greens are then rolled and a plant health package is sprayed on the surfaces.

A lovely day setting up for our last open of the year and the finishing touches of air2g2 work carried out ahead of the golf by Logan Bruce Sports Turf Maintenance .

In-house winter projects progressing well with the 2 greenside bunkers on the 5th nearing completion. Integrated disease management plan also performing well heading into rhe cool season keeping greens relatively disease free.

Spring maintenance has now been completed. Aggressive verti cut, followed by 10mm solid tine work and finally VGR TopChanger across all greens surfaces. A light topdressing has also been applied, greens rolled and back in play. Now we wait for mother nature to play her part.

A lot of work goes into the course, so it is hugely disappointing to come in this morning to divots being taken from the 7th & 9th greens. These actions are completely unacceptable. Any witnesses to such incidents are encouraged to contact the office. #vandalism #disrespectful

Massive thanks to Dougie Archibald at Sherriff Golf & Turf Machinery in his assistance to bring in our new John Deere USA fairway & rough mower's. Both will be valuable additions and put straight into use by the team. #development #johndeere #greenkeeping

After a strange few months weather wise it's nice to see the course taking shape rather than flooding! Let's hope the second half of the year gives us much more settled weather.

Spaces available for the inaugural Celebrity Golf Day on Thurs 12th Sept. A brilliant day for a special cause in the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. Rugby legends like Bob Skinstad, Bryan Redpath, Neil Back MBE, Hugo Southwell as well as Rangers & Scotland legend, Ally McCoist are all taking part.

A frosty start but greens maintenance well underway.

The start of the winter maintenance programme has begun. Work under way with greens drainage at 6th hole. Turf removed and trenching work will begin tomorrow.

Spring maintenance has begun on course today. GKB sandfiller followed by sarel roll, drag, roll then final drag.
