1/3 Staying focused while performing is a crucial skill to have as a performer in this activity. Any performer can achieve this by just working a few skills: -Mental reps -Studying your show -Staying mentally present -Thinking out loud These have helped me grow as a performer.

2/3 I often hear other performers say they black out or can't remember what happened on the field after a show. This used to happen to me, but the strategies listed have allowed me to stay present and perform at a higher level in my shows. If you really want to grow, use them.

3/3 Being able to adjust on the fly, recover quickly, and project to the audience can help you become a top performer in the space. No matter if you are just starting, in highschool, college, or a world champion. These skills are a great fundamental base to help you grow!

1/2 Be proud of yourself! At this time of year in marching and audition season, sometimes results go your way, and sometimes they don't. The work you and your friends have put in to get to this point is enough! The countless reps, football games, shows, and run throughs.

2/2 All of these experiences helped you grow so much this season, never forget that! A contest with judges seeing you for the first time can't take that away from you. Hold onto these moments, and cherish them forever. Never let a score on a sheet of paper define your season.

Corps need to learn to cut people correctly. Over two camps and an entire callback weekend, the decision should be pretty clear on who should and should not get a contract. Having a callback camp just to callback someone again is a complete waste of time.

DCI as a whole needs more education for all new performers, even for the most basic tasks. How to sign up for a camp, how camps work, how to raise funds for your summer, and how to pack for your summer. DrumCorpsLink’s goal is to educate a new generation of informed auditionees

Summers get very stressful. There are times where we get so sick of our fellow members and want to lash out for whatever reason. Remember to tell yourself this: “Everyone around me is trying their best in order to be the best version of themselves” Empathy is a skill.

Audition for your dream corps. Talk to anyone and everyone about Drum Corps. Share your best and worst times from marching. Be that person that's "obsessed with DCI". It's OK! This activity isn't with you forever, so cherish every bit of it you can.

It doesn't take much to be elite at marching. Consistency is king. With just 15 minutes everyday or every other day on a field by yourself is more than most people will ever do. Forwards, Backwards, Slides, and a Box drill at varying tempos is enough to become excellent fast.
