I guess then MPs wouldn’t have an issue going back to their 2008 salaries then… because they’ve gone up by £30k in that time. 650 MPs, that would immediately save £21million for starters.

I’m off to adult ICU for a few months in August. It’s been a while since I’ve done adult medicine. Suggestions for important studies or resources I should familiarise myself with before starting?

Sugammadex is well tolerated and effective for reversing neuromuscular blockade in adults and children over 2 years old. In a new clinical trial, Mensah-Osman et al. tested the efficacy and tolerability of sugammadex in children less than 2 years old: ow.ly/6Jk450Wqc9m

Some great advice from Ross Prager! For those new to ICU though… please relax and enjoy it. Advice given to me by an old school Intensivist: our job is to keep asking why until we’re satisfied we have the answer. And don’t forget… history is king. Even on ICU.

So in summary… deny someone their human rights and deal with legal consequences later? Excellent pitch for someone who presumably has ambitions of governing. Good job. 🙄

Clearly the time to be on meds in the US with all that money the drug companies are about to be paying you to use their products…

Good luck to new FY1s today! Ask for help if you want or need it, ignore the negativity, and be kind to yourself, you’re going to find it hard, you’ve never done this before, it’s a new job. Totally normal! Enjoy it!

#PedsICU #PedsAnes what are people doing for calculating IBW in children for ventilation in circumstances where you don’t have their height and can’t measure them? No standardised practice as far as I can see, interested to hear opinions.

Things that make me irrationally angry… Getting an email from IT (or anyone, but usually it’s IT) to my NHS address, asking for my NHS email address.

Because waiters and waitresses are so lowly they don’t deserve an opinion? What a poor take. It’s a private establishment. Within the law, they can serve, or refuse, whoever they like.

Seems there’s quite a lot of X who are surprised when people who plead guilty to offences that carry a custodial sentence, get a custodial sentence.
