The terminology is right. Time complexity is quite important to understand. As you work with larger and larger amounts of data, the time difference between a selection sort and a heap sort will make a massive difference.

For #4, I’d say lower overall pay and give bonuses for high performance. Same difference, but might be a better psychological driver.
