So the wolves, likely after eating the choice parts of the carcass, then nibbled off the frozen rumen lining in an attempt to eat every morsel of the carcass. What was left is a big frozen ball of the rumen contents.

How can we confirm the origin of fossil material as it disperses globally? Portable X-ray Fluorescence (#pXRF) links fossils to classical sites using their geochemical signature, though sometimes more sensitive instruments or additional techniques are needed.
