This was my salary as a Foundation Year 2 Doctor. This follows 6 years of university and 1 year as a doctor. Annual salary of about £26,500 (pre-tax), definitely not £43,000, or even the quoted £37,000 for FY1s. Oh and today my student loan sits at £90,247.

I feel like I should clarify. I *love* my job. I enjoy operating, I enjoy meeting a wide range of people and helping them, I enjoy teaching and I enjoy (to an extent) admin. I’m not asking that to change, I’d just like my salary to reflect what I thought I was signing up for.

Recently stepping up my game in pushing my aesthetics company while working full time as an NHS Surgical SpR. It’s so much fun to explore running a business while continuing the day job

🏳️‍⚧️ 🚨 MODEL CALL 🚨 🏳️‍⚧️: I’m looking for some wonderful trans-male and trans-female people in London to offer significantly discounted ‘masculinisation’ and ‘feminisation’ facial filler treatments, in return for digital content. If you know any, please pass it on!

PAs SHOULD not use terms: Dr / Mr / Mrs / Ms / Mx in any clinical setting (even if holds PhD): - verbal - notes - letters - websites - SoMe So patients aren’t misled into thinking they are dealing with a Doctor (or surgeon) OR misleading abbreviations: “GP PA” “PA surgeon” 4/5

🧵A shortage of pilots There’s a shortages of pilots, to train a pilot it takes 5+ years. To address the shortages a new role is created, pilot assistant (PA). They go through 2 years of training to equip them to assist pilots. The key here is the training is superficial.
