I’m horrified to hear about an Islamophobic attack on a bus in Kanata yesterday. Police have been given a description and are investigating. These acts of hatred & intolerance are unacceptable and must be firmly condemned & challenged. All people have a right to a safe Ontario.

Yesterday, a young Muslim woman in Ottawa suffered an unprovoked assault on public transit, including with reprehensible Islamophobic threats and slurs.    Hate and violence have no place in our city, or our country. The perpetrator must be held accountable, and my thoughts today
