Our latest work on DPANN archaea is now published in the ISME Journal (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39113594/). Using cryoET, we discovered an enormous attachment organelle in the DPANN cell envelope that forms a cytoplasmic bridge between the host and DPANN cells.

When I was studying at Melbourne Uni, I used to pass this passage every day to go to lectures. This walk has no name but I call it Nobel Walk. It's timely to award Richard Robson for The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2024. The school will have a chance to put Richard's photo on the wall.
