Hard to see any positive benefit to the existence of GenAI. Children and young adults will grow up with a lack of basic literacy, no critical thinking and zero social/cultural knowledge. Meanwhile, GenAI use continues to accelerate the ecological death of this planet.

It's because AI does not intend to be a 'tool'. It's a product. The semantics of language in this case is important, because it's not designed to 'better' human processes. It wants to *replace* them. Once we become enturely reliant on it, they can introduce hefty monthly fees.

The ever-expanding neoliberal focus on unsustainable economic growth and an emphasis on wealth above all else will continue to erode the social contract and drive us into a dark age. This period of late stage capitalism is moving fast. I'm terrified of the harm it will cause.
