The theme of World Cotton Day is 'Cotton for Good' for a reason. Cotton alleviates poverty, provides critical employment and income for women, helps with climate change, keeps micro-plastics out of the environment and so much more. People who work in cotton should be proud!

And that's why, in January, the ICAC will be posting more photos of Dr Radha with smiling, grateful people — but this time they will be seniors, because Dr Radha will be using the other half of her prize money to buy clothing for the elderly and distribute it over New Year's!

World Cotton Day was always intended to be a celebration — a time to appreciate and be grateful for all of the wonderful things cotton brings to our lives. But in this case, it's about celebrating wonderful people who think about the needs of others before their own.

We should all be proud of our natural fibre -- but we should be even prouder of the remarkable people all over the world who represent the very best of the cotton industry.

CALLING ALL COTTON RESEARCHERS! One of the top research networks in the world is meeting in India in December and if you want to stay on top of the most recent advancements and developments, you need to be there.

Scheduled for 6-8 December in Mumbai, the ninth Asian Cotton Research and Development Network (ACRDN) will be held immediately following the ICAC's 81st Plenary Meeting, to be held in the same city from 2-5 December.
