Thinking a lot today about the need to stop Universities from saying "we are increasing diversity" and shifting to "We are making sure our University is accessible (& working toward being welcoming) to people from all backgrounds"

To me, a major problem is the viewpoint that there is/should be a one-way flow from academia -> industry. Academia should recruit industry scientists at all levels and vice versa. Half of our lab has sig industry experience and it has transformed the way we approach questions.

There are some things I miss about academia. Currently I’m missing being able to go to the lab next door and barrow their pipette aid for an indefinite amount of time. 🤞mine comes in next week!
