Fadwa Hammoud is an outstanding attorney and leader in the community. I was excited to attend the opening of the Miller-Johnson Detroit office per her invitation. Kevin Sutton is an outstanding attorney leading the Education department and it was great to see him and his team.

This was our first interfaith committee meeting for the year at the Islamic House of wisdom. We had an excellent dialogue. We rotate the meetings to different locations every two months. It is a great group.

We had a wonderful rotary meeting. Micah and Wesam did a great job presenting the student led safe driving initiative.

I had a wonderful visit on Friday with students from the Michael Berry Center-Howe School program.

I had an outstanding meeting with the State of Michigan Board President Dr. Pugh and a wonderful visit to Saginaw United High School. We met with Saginaw Public Schools Board members, Saginaw Superintendent Dr. Roberts, Saginaw Township Superintendent Mrs. Kraatz, & educators.

I really enjoyed my time at the Teach/Michigan gala last night with educational leaders and policy makers.

Congratulations to Hanan Reda the Dearborn Employee recognition model Administrator of the month.

It was a pleasure to hear Senator Camilleri and Representative Kelly speak at the Teach Michigan policy discussion panel. I also appreciate Armen from Teach Michigan for the introduction and allowing me to address the audience filled with educational leaders.

I was excited to attend the Edsel Ford homecoming parade as the Grand Marshall. This is the first time that I have been humbly bestowed that honor. Go Thunderbirds!!

Friday night Football at DHS.

This was a very busy day. My last stop was Fordson Football as they wore pink and raised money to support breast cancer awareness month.

I had a great meeting with Mike DeVault and his all-star team at the Macomb ISD. Mike is an outstanding leader in Macomb and statewide.

Yesterday I met with my good friend Frank Hall as we go back 30 years as fellow college students at the University of Detroit Mercy working on our teaching degree. In addition, I ran into Andrea Awada and we go back to my first year teaching at Salina in 1997.

The annual Care to the Core day was an other successful event district wide.

I really enjoyed attending the Michigan Conflict resolution center promotion day. I met with Lansing Mayor Schor, State Senator Anthony and Conflict resolution center Executive Director Blumstein. Thank you to my good friend Ray Telman for the invitation.

It was also great meeting with the newly appointed Executive Director of MEMSPA Dr. Spickard and Tim Daman from the Lansing Chamber of Commerce.
