I remember early in my career getting the advice “don’t be the person something is always happening to,” and over the last few months it’s been haunting me as our family has crisis after crisis. I want to talk about how working parents have time poverty and the flywheel 🧵

The latest Canada Health Act Annual Report is out

It's one of the most interesting annual publications for health policy nerds like me

It provides an update on each province's compliance with the Canada Health Act, including unlawful extra-billing and user fees 🧵

Clinical AND research experiences are much more easily arranged by ppl who have parents who are physicians themselves. My unpopular opinion is that neither should be particularly important.

If you have a vacant home and don’t want it on Purplepingers’ list, there are two simple options:

1. Get $30,000+ per year in rent.
2. Get hundreds of thousands of dollars, or millions, for selling it.

The fact you’re turning these down, then complaining, is actually insane.

I’ve been the partner of an Australian for 20 + years now and I am really tired of talking about housing. It’s a human right to be housed. It’s not a human right for wealthy ppl to make $$$ off of poor govt housing policy, yet Australia prioritises the latter and not the first.
