This week we put out the final episode of Crash Course Black American History. We worked on this series for over 3 years and put out 51 episodes spanning the transatlantic slave trade to the Black Lives Matter movement. I’m so proud of what we made. youtube.com/playlist?list=…

Visiting my daughter's high school today. They've recently restricted cellphone. So many students siting in groups in the cafeteria, laughing & talking...chatting in the hallways... it's a different place. Side note: I asked a teacher what the biggest change is... Ready?

One thing I wish I had done throughout med school/residency is keep a running list of all the awesome things I’ve done: difficult diagnoses I’ve made, patients I’ve helped, kudos from attendings, etc. Because my dumbass brain only wants to remember all the times I’ve fucked up

You can condemn terrorism without denying Palestinian suffering. These are not mutually exclusive. You can actually be pro-Israeli, pro-Palestinian, pro-Muslims, and pro-Jews. To do so, however, you must be an actual humanist who condemns terrorism and pursues peace.

Right now, a protest is underway at Brandeis University. A group of “pain patient advocates” want the university to fire Andrew Kolodny. This is a thread in support of Andrew and the essential work he has done. /1

So much more valuable than a stupid debate would be a SIMULATED world crisis- give candidates a problem to solve and week to do it and let them engage any expert, any support and present to the world how they would approach an important problem. Simulation, not debates.

I reported my coat left on my Delta flight after arriving at Boston Logan Airport only minutes after landing. Exactly the flight, gate, and my name in it. And they say not found - @delta did you steal my coat?

The wisdom of sim- we should replace meaningless and soundbite- laden debates with high fidelity week long simulation- give candidates a relevant problem and observe how they problem solve, who they turn to for advice and support, how they collaborate (or don’t) and communicate
