When I was a competitive gymnast, I endured my slew of Achilles tendon injuries, but fortunately no ruptures. I did however, get a complex meniscus tear and hip labral tear. Gymnastics is no doubt tough on the body. Wishing the current Olympic team a safe competition in Paris!!!

Right on the heels of #SIRC2024, I’m excited to introduce myself as the newest SIRC Board member and inaugural Sponsorship Chair! Lots to learn and accomplish, but I’m so excited for what this year will bring and hope to increase supports to propel this organization forward!

Women in medicine: - Earn less. - Are less likely to be in leadership. - Have fewer research opportunities. - Spend 8.5 hours more per week on domestic responsibilities. Yet, they spend more time with patients and provide better care. The double standard needs to END.

Academia is still very much a gender-biased world. Strategic use of assertion is absolutely necessary for women to advance in science and medicine, even if it makes us less ‘likable.’ Fellow female PhDs and MDs, stay dominant. 💪

Extremely proud of this paper and team. 💙 We discuss the state of brain injury and implementation science, including several opportunities to advance both fields, ultimately leading to greater impact of our interventions on patient and caregiver outcomes.
