Beware of mesangial nodules! I thought this was diabetes but turned out to be thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) LM: mesangial nodules, thick glomerular basement membrane. Arteries normal. IF: negative EM: Mesangial & subendothelial expansion by loose fluffy material Dx: TMA
