EPA in the US is acting to protect those who live in the United States from lead in water pipes which gets into drinking water. Why is Manitoba not acting to protect people living in Manitoba? #mbpoli . google.com/search?q=EPA+r…

Naomi and @WillardReaves38 were excited to meet two families coming from Islamabad at the airport this morning. Both are originally from Afghanistan and were refugees in Pakistan. It has taken more than two years to get them here. #mbpoli Manitoba Liberals

The photo is yesterday’s sunrise over Lake Superior. We were near Marquette, Michigan. It is good to know that Bald Eagles are doing well along the shore of Lake Superior and that sightings have increased significantly over the last 30 years.

I am surprised to find that the University of Michigan bookstore does not have a copy of “What the eyes don’t see” by their own faculty member Dr Mona Hanna-Attisha, a book which tells the story of the water crisis in Flint, Michigan.

Visiting with Daniel Ness (on the right) who taught us much about the central role that Columbia, Pennsylvania played in the “Underground Railway” and about the individuals who contributed so much.

In Manheim, Pennsylvania today. They have turned what was essentially a straight drainage ditch into a meandering stream with enhanced riparian habitat to provide a wildlife corridor and better flood protection. The stream is the Rife Run in the Susquehanna watershed.

It is easy to see why Vicksburg, on the Mississippi River, was such a critical location during the civil war in the United States when you visit the city in person as Naomi and I did today. The city has natural high ridges around it which give those defending it an big advantage

I am proud of our daughter Pauline who gave a Ted Talk this year with an emphasis on the research done at the Experimental Lakes Area and some surprising results of the impact of synthetic estrogens on fresh water ecosystems. youtube.com/watch?v=206qkC…

Very sad to learn of the death of Grand Chief Cathy Merrick. It’s a great loss for Manitoba. I first met her many years ago and have long admired her ability to advocate for the Pimicikamak Cree Naton when she was Chief there and for all First Nations in Manitoba as Grand Chief
