TRUESOIL partners from #Finland carry their #fieldwork equipment on a #sledge 🛷 to measure greenhouse gases in a crop functional diversity experiment paired with rainout shelters. That's determination! They use the LI7820 for N2O and the LI7810 for CH4 from LI-COR

Master's student Anna Rosendahl and myself visited drained and rewetted mires near Trysil to measure #CO2 #CH4 #N2O in the snow with LI-COR #LI7810 and #LI7820. Measured up to 16000 ppb CH4. Great data for her thesis :-)

Saltmarshes in the UK store less than 0.2% the C stored in UK #peatlands. They are worth conserving for a host of reasons, but are minor C stores. The picture globally is similar. #bluecarbon can be headline-grabbing but risks diverting attention from truly-large C stores.
