Gentle density can be difficult to persuade people of. There’s a binary understanding of semi detached urban sprawl or tower blocks. New areas of 4-6 story density, built beautifully. could do so much to tackle the housing crisis.

Yesterday I chaired an extremely informative roundtable at Zoom Headquarters with The Disability Policy Centre, Shaw Trust, Lancaster University, Carers Trust and Disability Rights UK where we discussed how flexible working can benefit both disabled people and carers.

This is basic economics and impacts millions of people adversely through higher rents and worse accommodation. Yet after nearly twelve years working in Westminster I’ve never met an MP that gets this or cares despite enormous impact on their constituents #Budget #Landlords

What the UK desperately needs is a clear and consistent political and economic strategy to get us out of our current mess and malaise. We do not have one.

It’s Sunday and I haven’t read a single positive word about the Budget in print or on social media (except from Labour MPs). There appears a prevailing sense it’s made everyone poorer, except welfare recipients, and that the UK public are properly fed up to being taken for fools.
