Slumping Gleybar managed to deliver the winning run with a deep sac fly.

Bunting a runner to 3rd base with no outs works reasonably often…A fly ball gets the run in. Many ways to score a man on 3rd with one out. The Twins didn’t get the fly ball they needed but were inches from scoring on the grounder to Tork.

I assume it was “safety squeeze” where the runner doesn’t completely commit like a regular squeeze play. A well placed bunt should score the run…but the hitter looked to me like he was bunting for a hit

I get THAT….but the Tigers SO OFTEN fail to score AT ALL in extra innings. Dingler didn’t appear to even be looking to hit to the right side. I guess I have less confidence in the bottom of the order than AJ. His analytics are better than my gut most of the time. I feel like you

You nailed it MissChanandlerBong Polanco would’ve been THE GUY you want there…He could try to hit the ball to the right side and DO IT and possibly get a hit too. Do analytics nix the value of this type of hitting…and bunting too? My BOOMER gut loses to analytics I guess.
