Today, w/ European Union in Kosovo, we visited the Educational-Correctional Center in Lipjan, where adolescents are being empowered through #UPSHIFT. As a result of their own ideas, gym equipment was provided supporting their well-being & personal development. #foreverychild, a second chance.



#WomenPeaceSecurity conference: #UNICEF highlighted urgent, often invisible challenge of children&youth’s mental health &need to address transgenerational trauma. Veronika Vashchenko said: Mental health isn’t soft issue, it’s hard foundation of societal risilience #MentalHealthMatters


With partners from the Ministry of Finance Labor & Transfers & World Bank working on shared commitment to building a more resilient, inclusive & adaptive social protection system in Kosovo, one that can better respond to the needs of children and families during times of crisis.


Over 3.5 years, the EU and UNICEF Kosovo Programme improved child protection in Kosovo: ✔️ Services for vulnerable children ✔️ Support for children with disabilities ✔️ Peer mediation in schools ✔️ Stronger local systems 🇪🇺 EU remains committed to protecting every child’s rights in Kosovo.

Mr. Johannes Madsen, Head of Cooperation at the 🇪🇺European Union in Kosovo, expressed gratitude for the partnership w/UNICEF & reaffirmed the EU’s continued commitment. “As the largest donor in Kosovo, the EU takes pride in advancing the protection & rights of the most vulnerable children".
