This! My ā€œsecondaryā€ mentors were some of the biggest reasons for my success. I learned many things from them about my research and about science in general!

Today is the day! Headed back to Winston Salem for the first time since my move to the PNW. Excited to attend my (somehow) first Penry training and can’t wait to see my friends and former colleagues again! I am also going to eat so much food that I’ve been missing 🤫

This program on transgender inclusion in healthcare feels like a breath of fresh air to hear clinicians speak in this way about those of us in the LGBTQAI+ community! @nlrosendale Mackenzie ā€œZā€ L’Erario, MD LMSW American Academy of Neurology

Just a reminder that trans/NB folks often fall victim to the compulsory presentations many queer people experience when growing up— many of us acted straight/cis because that’s all we knew. This is why visibility (at any age) is so important.

Catching up on some podcasts and really enjoyed International League Against Epilepsy’s ā€˜Sharp Waves’ episode with @kswilcox about discovering new ASMs! Check it out if you haven’t heard it yet! šŸ§ šŸ’Š

One of my favorite #histmed stories is the discovery of EEG by Hans Berger in the 1920s. #NeuroTwitter At age 19, Berger (1873-1940) fell off a horse. On the same day, his sister, miles away, sent a telegraph to ask if he was doing ok. 1/10

Stop by my poster tomorrow to learn more about awake primate OPTOMEG— combining optogenetics and MEG to study the brain and kick the tires on some of our most important questions about MEG. #SfN2022
