We tracked 900 household contacts (HHCs) over 4 yrs.

HHCs with BMI<18.5 had a 3-fold higher risk of progressing to TB disease.

There was no difference in rates of IGRA conversion for those negative at enrollment.

The transformation of a motley group with diverse backgrounds into a field trial team was very heartening. Their engagement with the patients and families was remarkable. We dealt with anonymised data, but they remembered them as people and cared.

A big thank you to the dedicated field team & the wonderful rural communities of Jharkhand with their community health workers (called Sahiyas). It was a humbling and transformative experience. We have wonderful people in our country who can take on any challenge, incl.ending TB.
