RIP Frank Field. When I stood in Birkenhead in GE 2010 he suggested that we should ask the Electoral Commission to put ‘none of the above’ on the ballot paper to try to encourage turnout. I was up for it but concerned NOTA would poll higher than me. Alas, nothing came of it.
