Today, World Health Organization (WHO) Rep. in 🇱🇾 participated in a joint visit to Al-Kufra alongside the DSRSG, RC/HC for Libya Ms. Georgette Gagnon Georgette Gagnon - جورجيت غانيون, @UNHCR, @IOM, World Food Programme and UNICEF Representatives.
During a meeting with the authorities/municipality leads & partners at the World Health Organization (WHO) supported Emergency Operation Centre in Al-Kufra, Dr Ahmed ZOUITEN said "Libyans have shown exceptional hospitality to the incoming Sudanese, yet the needs remain substantial, and every effort counts”.

Dr Ahmed ZOUITEN , the World Health Organization (WHO) Rep. in Libya , together with Ms Georgette Gagnon - جورجيت غانيون the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator, conducted a field visit to Batta Village Hospital in the Green Mountain Coast Municipality.
During the visit, the delegation looked over the health services provided at the hospital, including its needs and priorities. They also observed the services offered by the World Health Organization (WHO)-provided mobile clinic and two ambulances delivered earlier to the hospital.
Dr Ahmed ZOUITEN said " I am thrilled to see how this rural hospital has recovered from the previous floods. Thanks to the Ministry of Health as well as World Health Organization (WHO) , it has been restored and became stronger than ever."
During the visit, Batta Village Hospital received a shipment consisting of life-saving medicines & treatments for chronic diseases, enough to serve 3,000 people for three months. These supplies were made available thanks to the support of EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺
