Those who join the best funded PIs/labs/institutes get most awards & fellowships. This means PIs/Inst. who need assistance the least get the most assistance. If awards are designed to reward the rich that's totally fine but let's create alternative mechanisms for everyone else.

What's with the new password requirements for the CCV? Lower case, upper case, number and special character needed, and minimum 12 characters. I mean it's my CV, not my bank account. Next up: 2 factor authentication. 🙄

I'm sad to say that often "allyship" isn't actually real, happening only while things are easy or convenient. The moment things get difficult or require personal sacrifice then people sing a different tune. Real allies are rare and precious.

Indigenous persons bring their culture and so much value to each and every discipline they're in. And they are Mentors to the next generation. Recruitment and retainment of them in traditionally non-Indigenous disciplines is vital. I'll die on this hill.

I am so proud of my ACNP Near Peer mentee Yannick Fotio. This is such an amazing opportunity and he is so deserving. He will do great things, watch and see. Congrats Yannick!!

This may be petty but one of my pet peeves is when individuals address me casually as “Natasha” in their cover letters or emails for a job in my lab. It is Dr./Prof. Rajah within the context of a formal application. #AcademicChatter #WomenInSTEM

I find it strange writing applications that promote my success in student training. It's not just me. My team trains and mentors just as much as I do. Together we create new scientists.

Budding scientists inherit career success-or the lack of it-from their mentors. Great Gatsby Curve, which outlines generational wealth, has a corollary in academia, researchers find. science.org/content/articl…

Here's the thing. The folks who say "I'll start speaking up once I am tenured" don't ever speak up, and the people with tenure who do speak up did so pre-tenure too.

And...we are hiring! Looking for a peptide-focused synthetic chemist as a postdoc. add in the link (let me know if it doesn't work...I've had issues before). Someone who knows their way around automated synthesizers and HPLCs. #Chempostdoc trantteam.ca/wp-content/upl…

First time I've had to reach out to an Editor regarding the comments of another reviewer. Editors, please vet reviewed comments carefully for bias as well as tone. Students are likely reading these reviews.

Drives me crazy when researchers put other researchers model systems down. It depends on the question being asked. Also, models COMPLIMENT. No model is perfect! Can we work together to answer important questions please? Not tear eachother down.
