How does working 80+ hours and only (maybe) having one day off make me a better doctor? I'd really like to know. And please save the "back in my day" and "I went through it, so you can too" rhetoric. That's not an answer to the question.

I remember feeling useless or like a burden as a medical student because residents had to double check everything I did and take time away from their work to teach. Man I was so wrong. My workdays are SO much better when I have students with me. Literally an invaluable addition.

Was it around October that y'all said most interns hit a wall and feel the worst? If so, I believe it. I am not having a good time.

I've been in the same clinic for weeks and have gotten great feedback on my notes from every Attending I've worked with. Today, someone wanted to me reformat my whole note to the way that they like it. No. ❤️

Once again, none of my patients showed up to my gen peds clinic. This is a very clear pattern of my patients not showing up but everyone else's patients coming. At this point I'm starting to think parents are googling me and choosing not to come. Y'all know exactly why...

I had a LITTLE extra cash and "nothing important coming up" so I decided to pay down one of my credit cards last week. Now the brake system on my car is failing. 🙃 Perfect timing. Why is my life like this?

Just finished Step 3 and a lot of my 20 mins cases abruptly ended like 10+ minutes early.. in the middle of me actively diagnosing and treating. So either I did great or I killed them all. 🙂

Someone on Facebook is giving step by step updates of her kid's course with RSV and the PICU. Basically live tweeting. Idk if it's because I'm seeing it everyday at work and don't want to see it on FB or because I think it's weird to share all that. Either way I want her to stop.

I got to the airport a little early and had time to leisurely walk to my gate instead of having to run. I can see why yall do this now lol

It's finally February. 🙌🏽 Not that anything in particular is happening this month. January just felt like it lasted 90 days.

I'm on nights and I just went to a patient's room with my sleeping mask on my forehead. 😭 I didn't even realize it until I got back to the team room.

One of my biggest professional pet peeves is lectures not ending at their allotted time.

On Thursday mornings I'm an Adult Psychiatrist and on Thursday afternoons I'm a General Pediatrician and my brain just somehow switches over during the ride from one hospital to the other. Combined training is weird.
