An etymology aha. Saw "koolhydraten" on a Dutch stroopwafel pack. Then I know why the old Indonesian word for carbohydrates is "hidrat arang": a direct translation. Carbs is formed out of Carbon (C), H, and O, arranged in a 2:1 ratio (as in water), explaining the "-hydrates" Ah!
