Very happy to celebrate #WomenInScience today. Extra special thanks to the brilliant scientists I work with: first author publications from Qing, Paulina, Janet, Shuyu, Katja, Neha, Iza, Trude, Ana-Claudia, Adel and Dinaiza over the last couple of years.

Endogenous retroviruses ERVs in sheep are 0.55% of the genome and different families have different genomic distributions: some centromeric (except on 2 metacentric chromosomes), others more dispersed, with lovely in situ pictures from Sarbast Mustafa biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Enjoyed the talk by Pat Heslop-Harrison and Trude Schwarzacher on endogenous pararetroviruses at #IBC2024. I still fondly recall my time in their lab University of Leicester as a master's student, learning from the best in cytogenetics. Grateful to them for guiding me toward what I now love so much!
