Deer Park ISD honored longtime athletic trainer Jim Davidson by naming the South Campus training facility in his honor. Davidson worked more than 20 years as the DPHS head athletic trainer and recently announced his retirement. Deer Park Athletics

Congratulations to Jeffrey Locklear, a fifth-grade teacher at Deer Park Elementary, who was named elementary teacher of the year for DPISD. Locklear will represent DPISD in the regional teacher of the year competition.

Congratulations to Katherine Newman, a Deepwater Junior High math teacher, who was named secondary teacher of the year for DPISD. Newman will represent DPISD in the regional teacher of the year competition.

Congratulations to Kendra Allen, Deer Park High School-South Campus’ cosmetology teacher, who was selected this year’s Shelly Childers First-Year Teacher.
