Gladiator is another example of The Academy getting it totally right. For all the misfires & wrong decisions the #Oscars have made over the years, I 100% believe this film deserved to win the #Oscar for Best Picture & I think Russell Crowe’s win for Best Actor was also deserved.

If the 2016 #Oscars were redone, I like to think that Mad Max: Fury Road would’ve ended up winning Best Picture. I say that as someone who loved Spotlight as much as anyone. But Fury Road is like an avalanche of great filmmaking. I still don’t know how George Miller made this.

Edward Norton lost the 1997 #Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for Primal Fear to Cuba Gooding Jr., who won for Jerry Maguire. I love Cuba in Jerry Maguire but Norton’s performance here gets better with every passing year- it was an iconic start to an incredible filmography.
