Happy New Leaky Roof at 4am to me, brilliant 🎉 🤦‍♀️

Reported a water leak on a nearby road yesterday, it's been there at least a fortnight but has been getting worse, today it took me 20 minutes to do a 5 minute journey because they're digging up the road to repair it. I am both pleased and cross with my actual self 🤣😢

Staying with my mum for a day or two after a difficult tooth extraction then an unexpected late night collapse and early morning ambulance visit. Crew arrived "we kept it quiet so none of the neighbours know". Bruised but not broken thankfully.

Back from an astonishingly busy short stay in Reykjavik. Tours, glacier walk, black crust pizzas, helicopter over the volcanic sites, whale watching, walking between tectonic plates & behind waterfalls. I'm not sure I've ever been this tired & happy at the same time

Looking forward to Historical Assoc conference tomorrow & Saturday, lots of interesting talks for primary & only half an hour from home!

Thanks for all the replies to this, have been in contact with his college and have screenshotted lots of the replies for if we need to take things any further. They seem to have acted quickly but we've asked for assurances & clarification about what happened & what's being done

Just chatted to a man on the train about the books we were reading, like in the olden days, before phones. I might get the one he had because I have nearly bought it a few times, he doesn't like crime fiction so he won't be getting the one I'm reading.

Meal out & Hamilton tonight followed by a 300 mile round trip tomorrow to drop eldest back down south because instead of her 2 usual trains & tube she has to get 5 trains and 4 of them have turned into a bus!
