A little appreciation post for Sandor and his natural 'highlights'...😍 We welcomed Sandor to our sanctuary in 2016 after he'd been badly neglected for two long years 💔. Since then, Sandor has bounced back from surgery to remove three sarcoids, a type of skin cancer in donkeys.

Our brave boy Frazer was rescued as a foal in 2011 and arrived with a fractured jaw. Our Veterinary team nursed him back to health, but this resulted in the irregular growth of his lower incisors and a decision had to be made to remove them or not 🦷➡️ bit.ly/3EuGMQi

How it feels knowing there's only one more week until another bank holiday...😁😁

Donkeys often snooze standing up 😴 but, when they're in a deep sleep, they're typically lying down. They usually only sleep up to 5 hours daily due to their natural instincts to watch for predators!

Spring has well and truly arrived, and the blossom trees are blooming at our sanctuary 🌸🌿. When are you planning to soak in this spring beauty at our sanctuary next? 📅💚

Did anyone spot our lovely adoption donkey, Roma, in her chic zebra print disguise? 🦓 Like many donkeys, she suffers from sweet itch caused by midge bites 🦟. The fly mask and rug she's wearing help protect her in the warm weather, ensuring her comfort!

Adoption donkey Snowdrop is helping us share an important message! If you'd like to provide a special treat to our donkeys, you can drop these off in our donation box located at the Visitor Centre! 🥕🍎 These treats can then be given out by our farm grooms as special rewards.⁣

Donkeys were once crucial in rural day-to-day life until around 1974, since then their role has changed drastically. On #WorldDonkeyDay we recognise these wonderful animals and their enduring resilience, and how they continue to offer invaluable support worldwide. ❤️🌍
