This letter hit me hard... Every single person you encounter is fighting a battle that you know nothing about. Your one tiny action can create powerful ripples that extend far beyond yourself. Create more ripples. For anyone out there battling in silence, you’re not alone.

There are 2 types of ppl in NYC: those who are open to possibility and those who aren’t. The 1st type, NYC gifts the sort of life worth writing memoirs about. The 2nd type, NYC grinds into dust. I see it over and over. Do not move here unless you can surrender to magical chaos

Park Ave used to have an actually park running down the middle. Then in the 1920s the median was shrunk to make more room for cars. And now great news: a new plan will restore the median, more than doubling its width, adding walkways, benches & landscaping, from 46th to 57th St.

Today I asked my kids if they have active shooter drills at their elementary school. My 9 year old said “No, but we have “if a wild animal gets in the school & we have to be quiet” drills.” So much credit to teachers for changing the narrative & trying to minimize the trauma.

Required reading for New Yorkers this morning. Did anyone else realize that taxpayers are paying Tim Pearson’s legal bills? He choked a receptionist at a shelter bc he wanted to enter a place occupied by women and children without identification. 🤮

during the 1992 presidential debate Ross Perot was asked to give his vision for America in 1 minute. this means more to me now than it did back then because now I know everything about the two losers he was standing in between when he said it - Bill Clinton and George HW Bush.

A society in which the most belligerent amongst us can simply decide not to follow any of the rules everybody else has to follow and then just so long as they act mad enough about it when confronted even the police can’t stop them is a plain description of a dystopia
