Most clients think they know best for jury selection. And while most do not, it's important to listen to their take. After all, it's their case. Most lawyers will wrongly follow their client's advice bc if they lose, then it's on the client; not the lawyer. But that's just fear.

It's almost never determined before openings whether a defendant will testify. It's almost always a game-time decision after the govt rests. Gotta see how the trial is going.

Seems wrong not to allow Trump to attend the SCOTUS argument... state trial judge seems to have a touch of a terrible disease called robe-itis.

Translation: do you want off the jury? Just raise your hand.

How absurd that we can't see what's happening inside the courtroom and have to rely on a quick sketch with crayons...

Really? This should have been granted immediately. I guarantee the judge would not miss his kid's graduation.

If you could ask one question in jury selection, what would it be?

This is going to be fun. Katie Phang was an awesome prosecutor and lawyer, so we will have a lot to say about this.

Everyone is so breathless about this. But this is true in every single criminal trial. The judge decides the jury instructions at the charge conference. And prosecutors can't appeal NG verdicts. That's the way our system works.

A huge shout out to our U.S. Attorney, Markenzy Lapointe, for agreeing to speak to my class at University of Miami School of Law - #MiamiLaw. Mark was a baby AUSA when I was a baby PD. He still looks the same. Not sure what happened to me. It was a wonderful discussion and he certainly was inspirational.
