The MDR Film Prize for an outstanding eastern European documentary film was awarded to Marianna Kaat for “The Last Relic”. Hurrah, MDR and congrats to the film team!

The Film Prize Leipziger Ring, sponsored by the Stiftung FR Friedliche Revolution, honours a documentary film about human rights, democracy or civic engagement. The prize went ex aequo to Jonathan Schörnig for “Einhundertvier” & Nantenaina Lova for “Where Zebus Speak French”

The goetheinstitut Documentary Film Prize was awarded to “Einhundertvier” by Jonathan Schörnig - the second prize for the film. We congratulate!

The Gedanken-Aufschluss award went to Nele Dehnenkamp for her first feature-length documentary film, “For the Time Being”. This award was voted on by a jury comprised of prisoners at the Juvenile Detention Centre Regis-Breitingen.

The Golden Dove for a Short Film in the German Competition is awarded to Franzis Kabisch for “getty abortions”. The jury found it "a convincing contemporary form to address an ancient and at the same time highly topical issue” and OH MY, did the audience CHEER for this!💝

The Golden Dove for a Long German Film went to “Einhundertvier” by Jonathan Schörnig - documenting a rescue MISSION LIFELINE INTERNATIONAL e.V.. The jury emphasised that "The film team and the crew show that help is possible and needed.” 💗Sponsored by Doris Apell-Kölmel & Michael Kölmel. Congrats!

The first appearance of the International Competition for Animated Film on stage right now! The jury is honouring Tomek Popakul and Kasumi Ozeki for the animated Polish short film "Zima" with a Special Mention. 👏 Congratulations!

The Golden Dove for an Animated Short Film is given to Barbara Rupik for “Such Miracles Do Happen” - described by the impressed jury as "a kind of liquid animation" 💗 CONGRATULATIONS! This award is granted by the German Institute for Animated Film e. V.

The newly created Golden Dove for an Animated Feature-Length Film went to Xu Jingwei for “No Changes Have Taken in Our Life”. Amazing! The jury called it “a courageous and challenging film that is as specific as it is universal".

"30 Kilometres per Second” that's how fast The Silver Dove is gonna fly home with Jani Peltonen! He wins the best short documentary by an up-and-coming director, sponsored by the Sächsische Landesanstalt für privaten Rundfunk und neue Medien (SLM).

The Golden Dove Short Film was presented to Bo Wang for “An Asian Ghost Story”. Congratulations! The jury called it “a smart, hip, funny amalgam of fact and fiction made with exceptional craft”.
