I’m simply horrified to see NHS England now literally breaking the law in how it misrepresents physician associates & other allied health professional - who are NOT doctors - to the public. These posters are from the Bradford District & Craven Health & Care Partnership. 1/n

It’s dangerous to blur the lines between doctors and PAs (not doctors/no medical degree). This kind of practice is illegal and what GMC should protect the public against. NHS England must rethink the #itsaGPthing campaign entirely.

I’ve spent 6 years at med school, 5 years in general medical training, 2 years in specialist cardiology training and are referred to as “a junior doctor” yet the fact that NHS management thinks a 2 year degree makes a “heart specialist” tells you all you need to know

My #tipsfornewdocs is spend some time in your first week finding your designated poo toilet. Staff only, quiet, double-skinned from a corridor, nowhere people go on nights. You will not regret this use of your time.

#TipsForNewDocs Make sure you have the number for the finance payroll department in your favourites. You’ll see why after the first month.

This proposed BMA deal is a joke. Seeing a lot of big names try and justify why we should accept. Honestly, when have we as a profession lost respect for ourselves? You are worth more so much more than this, don’t settle.

People say IMT is bad - it is… But one of the positives is when you see patients in specialist clinics by yourself with supportive consultant supervision. Really makes you feel useful and that you’ve achieved something positive for the day!

'I think there are legitimate concerns about the extent of doctor substitution' Health Secretary Wes Streeting told #BBCBreakfast he'll 'take stock' before allowing more physician associates to be employed in the NHS in England bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

After working in A&E for just a little over a month, I thought I'd share my experiences as one of the front line doctors facing the current/ongoing crisis happening across our country. A quarter through my placement, I already feel burned out and morally fatigued. 1/20.

As a child, I couldn’t understand why my dad shopped at Marks & Spencer instead of designer brands. 29 years later… guess who’s wearing M&S head to toe?

The silence speaks VOLUMES the caller knows that most patients don't know when they are seeing a PA or what one is the caller knows they can't answer the question about medical school without sounding inadequate or brazenly cocky

If you're wondering how the NHS estate is doing, on my night shift I was passed by a rat running down the hospital corridor. (obligatory 'but my watch is an infection control risk' here)

A medical registrar undoubtedly has the hardest job in the hospital They are senior doctors that carry a HUGE degree of responsibility How on EARTH this trust justifies paying them £10 LESS than a PA (who THEY supervise?!) with 2 years of training is insulting beyond belief.

Today, I got my job allocation as an incoming doctor. After 9 years studying at Cambridge, a PhD, and scholarships for ranking high up in my cohort, I’ve been placed in Northern Ireland - hours away from any friends or family and one of my lowest choices. #NHS #FY1 #UKFPO

Doctors in the UK are working in restaurants because they can’t find an NHS job. 20,000 doctors will be potentially be out of a NHS speciality training job this August, due to government restrictions on training spots. There is no rational reason for this restriction to exist.
