A decade of challenging medical training transformed me, for better and worse. But I never regret pursuing medicine. Being able to guide my immigrant parents through hospitalizations and doctors visits in the chaotic US healthcare system makes it all worth it.

I am grateful to train in high resource institutions. But the amount of wasteful, redundant and irrelevant testing we send on patients daily is astounding. Literally bleeding these patients to state of anemia and sending tests no one is using in the treatment decisions anyway.

Half of ID is convincing surgery that the rim enhancing post op collection in setting of fever and bacteremia is probably not a sterile seroma no matter how many times they say it is.

With tremendous joy, I share that our patient who received a gene-edited pig kidney transplant was discharged home today after removal of his dialysis access. We hope that this is a first step that will bring hope to many patients waiting for a kidney transplant #xenotransplant

Compliments to the inpatient peds ID and peds primary care folks at CHOP. Truly seamless transition of a v. complicated patient to our OP clinic in NJ. Exceptional work up. Amazingly detailed discharge summary AND verbal sign out. We will take it form here! 🤝 Children's Hospital

“Hi I’d like to place a consult. Patient is coming in with cough, body aches and fever for 1 day. Positive for human metapneumovirus. We gave him 1 dose of cefepime but he’s still febrile today. Can we give him meropenem? “

University reimbursement culture means you're regularly lending money to your employer, yet they never pay you back with interest. It's frustrating that this is the norm in academia. What's the situation at your workplace?

I lovvvveeee discussion treatment options in depth with patients. I love explaining the pathophys so that they understand what’s going on. I love seeing their lightbulbs come on. I love educating patients and arming them with knowledge.

The 9th circle of hell in ID is trying to “rule out” TB in a patient who is presenting with lymphadenopathy and fevers who has a history of partially treated TB with strong TB risk factors who also has a new diagnosis of lymphoma 🫠

- Always send a U/A if a urine culture is being sent (with only a couple of exceptions). - Simple cystitis does not cause systemic symptoms, such as fever. Such symptoms usually imply infection that has spread beyond just the bladder. 3/

Since when does Wayfair.com require customers to pay return shipping on unopened furniture? Their return policy used to be 👌: if not happy w/ product then full refund no problem Now return shipping cost is deducted from refund? This will be my last order from Wayfair.com ✌🏻
