A 108% rise in fees coupled with a 4% pay rise, and still no clarity for resident doctors. “the income from car parking is used to maintain our car parks including the costs of repairs and maintenance” Given the FOI below, is this really true South Tees Hospitals?

This is outrageous extortion of their own staff and an overt attack on their pay. This is why we need to build our local and regional organising capacity up in the union. We need to empower and facilitate doctors to organise and fight in their workplaces. ✊🏼

I’m not clear I understand what Matt “both sides” Taylor of NHS Confederation means by keeping the catastrophic PFI contracts he wants back off the books?! Is he suggesting we agree these contracts that are atrocious value for money but the consequences are held away from the Trusts?!

NEWS | 70% of doctors in Scotland are concerned with possible UNEMPLOYMENT and 40% of highly trained doctors are considering leaving Scotland. This would be a huge loss to Scotland's NHS. Need urgent action to fix this from John Swinney Neil Gray MSP dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-…

Today, hundreds of new doctors are stuck in “placeholder” posts – a breach of their contractual rights. With August fast approaching, they face uprooting their lives on just a few weeks’ notice. Posts must be created now, and changes made to ensure this never happens again.

The chancellor has announced an NHS funding increase of £29 billion. This is good news. Some of this money must go to restoring staff pay who have faced over a decade of devastating austerity. Investing in staff will be the key for Rachel Reeves to bring down waiting times.

Rachel Reeves says she’s going to train more GPs. But here’s what she didn’t mention: Many GPs today *already* can’t find jobs. They’re ending up driving Ubers or signing on for Universal Credit after over a decade of training - because there simply aren’t enough jobs for them

Reeves boosts NHS at the expense of resident doctors. Doctors have subsidised the NHS for too long. Poor pay is a choice. That’s why resident doctors need to vote for strike action in favour of pay restoration. ⁦The BMA⁩ bbc.co.uk/news/live/c2lk…

After further reading, the current 3% increase in funding for the NHS is actually woeful. The last labour government invested almost 7% a year. The last workforce plan by the Tories said the NHS would need 3.6% a year. No doubt it's staff and patients who will pay the price.

Dr Ajay Verma’s letter is a vital response to the senior medics urging doctors not to strike. He sets the record straight: today’s resident doctors face a very different NHS than the one those medics trained in. ➡️ £100k student debt ➡️ 22% real terms pay cut since 2008 ➡️
