Happy Birthday to one of the good guys in our sport and a dear friend I had the pleasure of working with for many years. Hope it’s a great day my friend.

Forever remembered. Bruce didn’t just build McLaren. His drive, attitude, and love for racing continue to shape who we are today.

Going to be very interesting. Ratings and attendance will determine if this move was a success ;although the novelty of this in the first year could offer a bit of a bump in both.

Thank you Keith, it was a blast to do and working w Tom Cruise , Robert Duvall, Nicole Kidman was an amazing experience. As an ER physician & racing commentator, I was honored when award winning writer Robert Towne asked for my opinion and input.🏁

Not sure it’s going to get easier or less expensive in the next few years. I’ve always been a proponent of ole adage “why put off to tomorrow what you should do today” . Landscape in sports is so fluid right now, the sooner you can qualify as an FBS team, the sooner doors open?

This was so much fun to do! The characters in the house w the kids was amazing & then driving across the street to the track “within a couple minutes”to do the opening of the show was a blast. Our ESPN team was so talented & passionate about our open teases & @nascar coverage!!

These were discussed on a weekly conference call. Our producer back then Neil Goldberg along with several talented pit producers led way. I remember writing poems about “the Liberty Hillbillies” (Roush) & “the legend of Ingle Hollow” (Jr Johnson) which were shot/edited/w music.

Yes, that was a Bonneville SSE that had belonged to Bill France Sr. It was a rocket, loaded w all extras and had less than 3,000 miles on it when I got it. Loved that car!!

Bob was & always will be one of the greatest voices to call a nascar race. Bob, Ken Squier, and MRN’s Barney Hall were all in class to themselves. Also consider former CBS, current @NASCAONFOX host Mike Joy to be right there with them. All had a relaxing, let it breathe approach.

Thank you Steven, our ESPN team shot so many creative opens and teases for very little $. Also, many of the A list drivers back then willingly offered to be a part of these. We had Rusty Wallace & Bill Elliott riding horses in Phoenix dessert… the out takes were hysterical!!

Thank you sir! Always felt it’s important to treat folks the way you want to be treated. When I was a runner for Ned Jarrett/CBS back in late 70s, I appreciated being valued as a part of the team.

John, you were an excellent pit road partner and such a pleasure to work with. You are on the money in that our booth and total team was so special..!!!
