šŸšØPUB ALERTšŸšØ My diversity is less beneficial when I don't feel safe being myself. Conventional definitions of safety miss the mark for me. I'm unbelievably proud to share our work defining 'Identity Safety' in medicine. /I BEG YOU TO READ+RETWEET šŸ§µ onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11ā€¦

Important work here. Shameless self-promotion but: this is potentially importantly-related to recent work I did with Jenny Tsai, MD, M.Ed Hazar Khidir MD Arjun: Disparities in discharge 'AMA' from ED. Check it out! jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanā€¦

Resilience is the virtue that enables people to move through hardship and become better. No one escapes pain, fear, and suffering. Yet from pain can come wisdom, from fear can come courage, from suffering can come strengthā€”if we have the virtue of resilience.

ā€œOur emergency licensing board exams donā€™t test us on ā€˜Massachusetts medicineā€™ or ā€˜Texas medicine.ā€™ We have a national standard of practice. Emergency physicians in all states need access to the full range of stabilizing treatments for the full range of conditions we see.ā€

Hey Donald J. Trump - itā€™s me. Just one of the thousands of doctors who served on the frontlines during the pandemic. Here I am wearing a mask I had to reuse for weeks ā€¦ because we had a shortage. Despite what youā€™re saying in the #Debate2024 - you failed us.

Doctors must be involved in politics. From healthcare access to public health policy, we canā€™t afford to stay silent when so much is at stake. We need to be advocates for our patients - in the exam room and beyond. #debate #Debate2024
