This week the new Emergency Department at Portsmouth Hospital University Trust was officially opened by HRH The Princess Royal. This is where some of our medical personnel prepare for deployed operations.

In June our CO will be undertaking the Big Battlefield Ride #BBBR2025 cycling 250miles over 4 days. To raise some money for this fantastic endeavour JHGS recently ran a bake sale. A very tasty way to show our support! 🎂 🚲 @helpforheros Good luck Sir!

On the 7th of March, HRH Princess Anne officially opened the new Emergency Department at Queen Alexandra Hospital. 8 ED team members from JHGS were honoured to meet HRH and share their nursing experiences. It was a delightful day and demonstrated our strong bond with the NHS.

Recently a group of preceptee nurses from JHG had the pleasure to visit the Royal Hospital Chelsea. They received an informative and jovial tour from in-pensioner Dave, learning about the history of the grounds and the lives of the pensioners. It was an honour to visit!

JHGS took part in a memorable battlefield tour in Belgium. During the trip, they visited memorials & museums, gaining valuable insights into the events of WW1 & Britain’s role in the conflict. We were deeply moved by the powerful stories of the soldiers who fought for our country

This week JHGS was recognised for its outstanding contribution to the city & the people of Portsmouth by being awarded the highest accolade a city can bestow, a Freedom of the City. The CO said - It is an honour to command JHGS & for their dedication to service be recognised.

Over The Wall is a UK based charity who provide camps for children and their families living with serious illness and disabilities. Providing a safe environment for medical support as well as mischief and magic. Some of our HCPs have had the privilege of supporting this charity.

Today JHGS took part in the DDay remembrance service on Southsea seafront where so many departed to liberate Europe 81 years ago. We stand on their shoulders and because of their sacrifice we can enjoy our freedom today. We will remember them #DDayAnniversary #portsmouth #RBL

Yesterday JHGS held a charity cycle event in the atrium of the QA Hospital. Incredibly raising over £1000 which will go to both Help for Heroes & Portsmouth Hospitals Charity 💙 - they covered a distance of nearly 400 miles-the equivalent of cycling from Portsmouth to Arnhem!! 🚴‍♀️💪🫡 Well done!
